I took a deep breath and told him the truth:
A Democrat is like your favorite aunt, who promises to take you to Disneyland — but then something else always comes up and she doesn’t keep her promise.
And a Republican is like your grumpy old uncle, who says there’s not enough money to go to Disneyland, but later you find out that he went there without you.
But we never learn: we keep flipping back and forth, one to the other, when they let us down.
