An offhand comment from a This is True reader (who noted that the thinking promoted by This is True “restores my faith in Americans”). It made me laugh, so I thought I’d “memeify” it.
I could have been calling from the house phone! (Except we got rid of that four years ago….)
It doesn’t take much to make someone’s day: put down your phone, shut up, and listen. Your silence while paying attention will be its own reward.
The more you fight with other commenters, the dumber you come off.
Today we simply have better ways of distracting ourselves and ignoring circumstances we don’t want to be a part of, but the bottom line is people are choosing not to interact with one another — and one way or another, it has been that way for generations.
Depending upon where you are in the world when the Solar Eclipse takes place you might see it as a bad omen or a sign of good fortune.
